The rotary disc filter is composed with rotary drum, rotary discs, backwash system and configured electrical control system. The rotary discs are fixed around the rotary drum with interlocking holes. The raw water (sewage) flows from the open end of rotary drum into the rotary drum and comes into each rotary disc via interlocking holes. The rotary disc can be equipped with filtration cloth on both sides that is weaved by metal wire or other organic materials with the diameter of filtration hole less than 10μ m. After the filtration of raw water by filtration cloth, the clean water flows out from the filtration cloth and then drains off the system through the exit of filtered water.
With ongoing filtration, the residual impurities inside filtration cloth will increase continuously, and the same is true for differential pressure of filtration. Meantime, the water flow is reduced through the filtration cloth. When the impurities are accumulated to a certain extent and the level of rotary drum reaches the preset value, it is necessary to conduct the backwash and get rid of the accumulated impurities inside filtration cloth.
The backwash water pump draws out clean water through filtration cloth to sprinkle on the outside of filtration cloth until the residual impurities come off. After rinsing, the sewage drops into catchment tray and then drains off the device.
The rotary discs take the spinning in the process of backwash. The back wash water sprinkles upon different places of filtration cloth until the rotary discs run one circle. After the thorough cleaning of filtration cloth, the backwash comes to the end and restores the static filtration process until the next backwash starts.
